Laboratory Introduction

The key objective of the NPDL (Nano Photonic Devices Laboratory) is the development of materials and processes using artificial photosynthesis modules. Among the artificial photosynthesis, we are focusing to direct solar water splitting using semiconductor photoelectrode. Our Research are divided to material synthesis, fabrication, measurement, and analysis for efficient energy conversion and applications. For that, we are tying to develop of GaN based photoelectrode combining with other materials and various co-catalyst, Our other objectives are Ga2O3 epitaxy growth using HVPE, development of porous and flexible heat sink using carbon composite and copper and so on. These studies apply to light-emitting diodes (LEDs), solar cells, and optical devices such as photoelectrochemistry (PEC). In addition, device and material simulations and characteristic experiments are also performed.
